Guest Column: City should embrace entrepreneurship in all its varied forms

Small businesses create two out of every three net new jobs in the United States. Yet they’re often subjected to a laundry list of regulations that make basic operation unnecessarily difficult or costly. Established under the guise of health and safety, these regulations, in actuality, create barriers to entry, diminish competition, stifle job creation and reduce consumer choice. To the local entrepreneur, they are a death by a thousand cuts.
