U.S. Is Women’s Entrepreneurship Frontrunner, But Lags in Fostering Leaders

A Dell-commissioned study released yesterday unsurprisingly named the U.S. as the most favorable environment for women entrepreneurs among 31 countries, closely followed by Canada and Australia – but also identified significant gender impediments that persist even in top performing nations.
The Global Women Entrepreneur Leaders Scorecard, as the study is titled, ranked countries based on business environment, access to resources, leadership and rights, existing pipelines for entrepreneurship, potential women leaders in entrepreneurship and government practices. Additionally, the scorecard examined each country based on the percentages of women CEOS, female senior managers, women on company boards, gender procurement policies and the availability of gendered data.
